Types of Diverse Business Enterprises

Businesses owned by Minorities (MBE)

Minority Business Enterprise with the principal owner being either African American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian-Pacific American or Asian-Indian American and owning at least 51% of the business.

Businesses owned by Women (WBE)

Women Business Enterprise with the principal owner being a woman owning at least 51% of the business.

Businesses owned by Minority Women (MWBE)

Women Business Enterprise with the principal owner being a minority woman owning at least 51% of the business.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE)

Disadvantaged Business enterprise which is the default classification unless specified as WBE, MWBE or MBE. This classification also includes Veteran owned enterprises and certified small businesses. The principal owner must be certified disadvantaged, not have a net worth exceeding 1.32 million and the business must not exceed 23.98 Million in total revenue.
